Plastic
Many plastic items can be cleaned of paint or powder by means of our proprietary stripping process. Perhaps the most notable item in this category is plastic buckets, of varying sizes, which several of our customers use for mixing paint samples. After treatment in our baths, these are clean again and ready for re-use.

Fibreglass
Our stripping process can also remove paint from some fibreglass constructs. Please enquire.

Removal of Galvanizing
We regularly encounter galvanized or bright zinc treated surfaces that customers want left intact. Our purpose designed stripping solution will not harm good galvanizing and we can leave this intact for further service.

In some cases, however, we find that clients have left refurbishment work for too long and previously damaged surfaces have been left to the point where self-sacrificing of the zinc is through to the underlying steel.

In these cases re-galvanizing is always an option but new galvanizing is only possible on clean steel and all traces of the previous zinc, together with any ferric corrosion present, must be removed.

As with rust removal, our system for the removal of galvanizing is inhibited to allow for removal of the zinc without harm to the steel substrate, leaving the surface clean and ready for new galvanizing.

Whilst we do not undertake the galvanizing work ourselves, we can arrange customers galvanizing requirements (including the necessary cartage), if required.

De-Carbonising

We see many examples of carbon build-up on equipment such as BBQ’s, engine heads, baking trays, coffee urns etc., and such items can be frequently be difficult to clean conventionally because of health and accessibility issues. Engine heads sometimes also have a varnish build-up, which is a by-product of the combustion process. We can successfully remove such carbon deposits, safely and effectively, to restore the original substrate. With the likes of BBQ plates and food preparation equipment, such as bread racks or pie tins, our process is a requisite precursor to Teflon coating.

Other Metals

The stripping process used by Powerstrip Industries is safe for most types of metal.

Examples of such metals that we have successfully dealt with in the past, are brass, copper and bronze. Paintwork stripped from items made from these materials will generally leave the metal clean and ready for re-painting or further polishing to restore the metal for ornamental purposes. This would be the case where, for instance, old brass window catches or downpipes have been painted over the years and are now preferred in the original brass finish.
